ultural Bridge Productions is a project started in 1995 with the philosophy that all cultures are equally valid even when in conflict with each other philosophically, morally or otherwise. We do not make a serious attempt at cataloguing cultures in an encyclopedic manner, instead, we explore cultures through the eyes of a visitor(s) to the places found on the site, through interviews with people who have a keen understanding of a culture, through photographs (over 500 in our galleries!), through a cultural forum consisting of visitor's letters, and we hope to add audio and video clips from our library at some point in the future. We also record for posterity, experiences of people from around the globe who have something to offer the historic record both about an event and about their culture. What is found on the site, then, is material that we believe is a valuable addition to recorded material on cultures and recent international history. Visitors are encouraged to use this site as a supplement to more rigorous studies as well as a starting point to travels or a basis for comparison with their own experiences after having traveled. ne visitor, a librarian, has asked us to stipulate what biases the writers and producer of the site have. We considered this request and declined because to do so would in and of itself offer no real insight to the reader. Rather, we request of you, the reader, to read critically and challenge any specious material you find on our site or anywhere else. We have provided two forums for opinions which may or may not be contrary to our own: letters, which can be found at the end of each article or story, and the Cultural Forum and invite all to comment freely. We welcome differing opinions and do not edit submissions on the philosophical underpinnings of their content. e have, on occasion, been solicited by those attracted to the prospects of employment with a ".com" business and so will try to respond to you before you send us your resume. Cultural Bridge Productions is a pre-startup, startup based in a lean-to somewhere near San Francisco's previous Multimedia Gulch and financed - as many sites on the Wild Wild Internet are - by nothing more than a dream and a 9-5 job. John Shea O'Donnell is responsible for the design and content on this site, except where clearly noted, and unless of course, someone is offended by all or a portion thereof, in which case no one assumes responsibility for anything found here. lthough we do not currently have any advertising banners on our site, we will consider serious proposals for such as well as any other serious financial proposals concerning the expansion and development of the site addressed to: johnsheaodonnell.com. | ||
